چکیده

The estimation of diagonal elements of a Wiener model kernel is a well known practical and theoretical problem. The new operators and notations here proposed aim at the automatic code generation for the implementation of efficient and accurate nonparametric algorithms for the identification of diagonal points. The resulting formulas here presented allow the direct implementation of the Wiener kernel of Wiener kernel identification up to the n-th order. Their efficiency is demonstrated by simulations conducted on fifth order discrete-causal Volterra test systems.

A Unifying View of Wiener and Volterra Theory and Polynomial Kernel Regression

Volterra and Wiener series are perhaps the best-understood nonlinear system representations in signal processing. Although both approaches have enjoyed a certain popularity in the past, their application has been limited to rather low-dimensional and weakly nonlinear systems due to the exponential growth of the number of terms that have to be estimated. We show that Volterra and Wiener series c...

Volterra Series Based Nonlinear Model: a Comparison of Kernel Identification Schemes

Volterra series based model, which is comprised of uniand multi-convolutions in terms of various inputs, could provide an accurate description of nonlinearities while preserving memory effects missed in static transformations. The basic premise of the Volterra theory of nonlinear systems is that any nonlinear system can be modeled as an infinite sum of multidimensional convolution integrals of ...

Application of Volterra and Wiener Theories for Nonlinear Parameter Estimation in a Rotor-Bearing System

Volterra and Wiener theories provide the concepts of linear, bilinear, tri-linear, etc., kernels, which upon convolution with the excitation force, can be employed to represent the response of a nonlinear system. Based on these theories, higher-order frequency response functions (FRFs) are employed to estimate the nonlinear stiffness of rolling element bearings, supporting a rigid rotor. The ro...

Approximate Solution of Linear Volterra-Fredholm Integral Equations and Systems of Volterra-Fredholm Integral Equations Using Taylor Expansion Method

In this study, a new application of Taylor expansion is considered to estimate the solution of Volterra-Fredholm integral equations (VFIEs) and systems of Volterra-Fredholm integral equations (SVFIEs). Our proposed method is based upon utilizing the nth-order Taylor polynomial of unknown function at an arbitrary point and employing integration method to convert VFIEs into a system of linear equ...
